Dr Siza Mokati: Paediatric Pulmonologist & Specialist Paediatrician Pretoria/Tshwane

As a Paediatric Pulmonologist and a Specialist Paediatrician in Tshwane/Pretoria, my practice at Netcare Montana Hospital in Montana Park is dedicated to providing evidence-based, compassionate, and highly specialised medical care for infants, children, and adolescents.

For over 20 years, my professional journey in children’s health has been guided by one core principle: every child deserves the opportunity to breathe easily, grow confidently, and thrive fully. My role as both a paediatrician and paediatric pulmonologist allows me to care for children comprehensively — from routine developmental assessments to complex respiratory conditions requiring advanced subspecialist management.

My Qualifications & Specialist Training – Dr Siza Mokati: Paediatric Pulmonologist & Specialist Paediatrician Pretoria/Tshwane

My academic and specialist training reflect a deep commitment to excellence in paediatric medicine:

  • MBChB – University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN)
  • FCPaed (SA) – Fellowship of the College of Paediatricians of South Africa
  • MMed – Paediatrics and Child Health (University of Pretoria)
  • Paediatric Pulmonology Certificate (SA)
  • Completed Paediatric Pulmonology Fellowship at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital (2022)

I graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2012 and later specialised in Paediatrics and Child Health through the University of Pretoria, obtaining my FCPaed (SA) in 2021 and Master of Medicine in 2022. I further completed advanced fellowship training in Paediatric Pulmonology at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital, where I also worked as a paediatric ICU consultant.

This rigorous training enables me to manage both common childhood illnesses and highly complex respiratory conditions with confidence, precision, and clinical excellence.

Why Experience Matters in Paediatric Pulmonology

Respiratory conditions in children can present subtly, progress rapidly, or mimic other illnesses. My combined experience in general paediatrics, outpatient care, paediatric intensive care, and advanced pulmonology training allows me to:

  • Identify early warning signs of serious respiratory disease
  • Manage critically ill children with precision
  • Provide structured long-term care for chronic lung conditions
  • Offer specialist insight for complex or unresolved cases

This dual expertise as both a Specialist Paediatrician in Tshwane and a Paediatric Pulmonologist in Pretoria ensures that children receive comprehensive, coordinated care under one roof.

Commitment to Excellence, Safety & Trust

Trust is central to paediatric care. As a registered specialist with recognised South African qualifications and fellowship training, I adhere to the highest professional and ethical standards.

Parents can feel confident knowing that their child’s care is guided by:

  • Accredited specialist training
  • Hospital-based practice at Netcare Montana Hospital
  • Ongoing professional development
  • Evidence-based clinical guidelines
  • A strong foundation in preventative paediatric medicine

My practice is built not only on medical expertise, but on partnership with families.

A Compassionate, Evidence-Based Approach to Children’s Health

Children are not simply small adults — their physiology, development, and emotional needs require specialised understanding. My clinical approach is meticulous and evidence-based, grounded in the latest paediatric and pulmonology research.

At the same time, I prioritise warmth, clarity, and reassurance. I understand that when a child struggles to breathe, it affects the entire family. My goal is not only to treat illness but to provide clarity, comfort, and long-term support.

Families who visit my practice at Netcare Montana Hospital can expect:

  • Thorough, structured assessments
  • Clear explanations and shared decision-making
  • Individualised management plans
